LONDON – June 15th 2021 – Coop Exchange, the pioneering fintech startup dedicated to transforming the sustainable investment landscape through cooperative finance, is thrilled to announce the formation of an expert advisory panel. This panel is set to guide the Coop Exchange board on the implementation of innovative cooperative capital solutions that adhere to core cooperative values and principles. The panel's establishment underscores Coop Exchange's commitment to fostering cooperative growth and addressing wealth inequality through sustainable investment. The newly appointed panel consists of esteemed individuals recognised for their contributions to the cooperative, mutual and the broader social and economic sectors. Dame Pauline Green, Board member and Co-founder of Coop Exchange will chair the panel which is set to meet over the next year to help provide a necessary challenge function as Coop Exchange embarks upon its ambitious journey.

Panel Members – Pioneers and Visionaries

The advisory panel, appointed on June 15, 2021, includes:

  • Tom Webb, a pioneering figure in cooperative management education and former manager at Co-op Atlantic.
  • Kathy Bardswick, former CEO of The Co-operators and chair of Canada’s Sustainable Finance Action Council, recognized with Corporate Knights' 2023 Lifetime Award of Distinction.
  • Jean-Louis Bancel, a stalwart in the European cooperative movement and former president of Coop France and Credit Cooperatif.
  • Jim Brown, author of "Co-operative Capital" and advocate for innovative investment models within the cooperative sector.
  • Bob Burlton, with a distinguished career in the cooperative movement, including roles as chair of The Co-operative Banking Group and Consumer Co-operatives Worldwide.
  • Dr. Rory Ridley-Duff, Emeritus Professor of Co-operative Social Entrepreneurship, known for his work on co-operative social enterprise development.
  • Ana Aguirre, co-founder and worker-owner at ‘Tazebaez S.Coop’ and a key player in the international cooperative scene.
  • Camilla Carabini, an economic anthropologist specializing in cooperatives, currently pursuing her PhD with a focus on financial inclusion.
